SUBMISSION OF SHORT PAPERS FOR POST-CONGRESS PUBLICATION OF A SPECIAL ISSUE IN “PLANT GENETIC RESOURCES:
CHARACTERIZATION AND UTILIZATION”

It is the intention of the organizers to capture the content of the Congress in the form of a special issue of the peer-reviewed journal
“Plant Genetic Resources: Characterization and Utilization”, edited by the Congress organizers. This will be achieved by inviting delegates
to submit a short manuscript, representing a compressed version of their Congress presentation (for formatting information, see below).
Some of these will report experimental results (“Short Research Paper”), while in a few cases a “Short Review Paper” may be more appropriate.
Publication in PGR will not prejudice authors from publishing, at a later stage, a full length paper elsewhere if they so intend.
Manuscripts will only be accepted from registered delegates, who may present a maximum of two contributions.
Each contributor will receive unlimited online access to the PGR Special Issue for the GPGR2 Congress.

Formatting of short papers (see also pdf file for an example)
File type: Text and tables should be prepared in MS Word (.doc or .docx) or Open Office Writer (.odt) and the figures submitted as jpg files.
Maximum length: 1,200 words (excluding title, authors, institutions, abstract, key words, list of citations and figures and/or tables).
Format: All papers (ie, “Short Research Papers” and “Review Papers”) must include an abstract of not more than 200 words and not more
than five key words. In addition, “Short Research Papers” must include a “Materials and Methods” section of not more than 300 words.
Otherwise, authors may arrange the content as they wish. (See PDF file titled “Sample Short Research Paper for PGR”).
Style for citing and bibliography: See PDF file titled “Sample Short Research Paper for PGR”.
Font: Times Roman 12 point, 1.5 line spacing.
Figures and Tables: For the printed version of the paper, a maximum of two figures or tables (or one of each) applies. Table(s), along
with their legend(s), should be placed in a file labelled "Tables.doc", and figure(s), along with their legend(s), in a separate
file labelled "Figs.jpg". THEY SHOULD NOT BE PASTED INTO THE TEXT, but an indication can be given as to their desired placement
within the text. Additional tables and/or figures can be published as supplementary material in the online version.
These should be labelled Table S1, Fig. S1, etc., within a file titled “supplementary material”.
